Full Job Description General Purpose:

The Worship Leader reports to the Worship Director and is responsible for curating and implementing excellent worship experiences across all services and events. This includes leading worship, coordinating production teams, preparing digital and musical resources, and investing in the spiritual, musical, and technical development of volunteers.

Essential Job Functions:

Weekend Services Contribute to weekend gathering planning meetings. Assist in selecting songs and building sets. Contribute to the creative planning process. Serve as the primary Music Director (MD) for weekends. Provide musical direction and guidance during rehearsals and live services. Lead worship with enthusiasm and expressive, authentic worship. Lead team meetings before each service to review flow and transitions. Oversee set up/tear down of worship and production areas. Lead worship for special events. Mid-Week Ministries Meet monthly with the staff leads of the mid-week ministries. Schedule teams and select songs. Insert weekly sets in Planning Center 4-5 weeks in advance. Finalize keys, upload resources (tracks, chord charts, band notes, overviews) at least 2 weeks prior. Prepare and program Ableton Live sessions. Organize and lead mid-week run-throughs. Focus on transitions, dynamics, flow, and timing. Provide constructive feedback and maintain high standards. Team Development Assist in the recruitment, training, and discipleship of worship and production team volunteers. Build community and spiritual growth among team members. Lead effective rehearsals that emphasize both musical and spiritual excellence. Programming Oversee AVL systems for campus worship areas.

Ableton Live:

Build, edit, and troubleshoot service/event sessions.

ProPresenter:

Program slides, lyrics, backgrounds, and announcement assets.

Lighting Software:

Program cues for dynamic and engaging services.

Minimum Requirements:

Ministry-related degree preferred. Experience leading worship in a church setting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Culturally aware of current worship music and trends. Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management abilities. Comfortable leading a large volunteer team. Proficient in Ableton Live, ProPresenter, and Planning Center. Working knowledge of analog/digital audio consoles and lighting systems. Proficiency in multiple instruments and vocal ability. Ability to lead and coach musicians and vocalists. Strong musical ear for dynamics, transitions, and live worship production. Understands and agrees with Calvary PSL’s statement of faith, mission, and core commitments.
