Director of Music Ministries Pierce Chapel Church 5122 Pierce Chapel Road, Midland, GA 31820
The Director of Music Ministry:
- Professes a personal faith in Jesus Christ and model the Christian life in faith and practice
- Serves as a Christian role model to all members of Pierce Chapel
- Assesses needs and gives general oversight to all areas of the music ministry, including: Giving direction to the Adult Choir, Handbell Choir, and Children’s choir; Providing musical accompaniment and coordinating/scheduling auxiliary musicians; and leading the congregation in musical worship by working with the lead pastor to select music appropriate for the Sunday worship service theme.
Detailed Description:
- Attend Pierce Chapel worship, Sunday school, and other church activities faithfully
- Recruit, equip and support volunteer leaders for all aspects of music ministry
- Equip and supervise any music assistants or auxiliary musicians
- Provide clear communication with the A/V operators
- Oversee children’s music ministry events
- Develop with a calendar of music ministry events and communicate effectively to volunteers
- Maintain an accurate, current record of volunteers and musicians
- Make regular contact with absentees
- Send regular communication of musical events and opportunities to the church body
- Coordinate music selection and calendar with Lead Pastor
- Choose, order, and supply musical materials for choirs (All lesson material should be consistent with Wesleyan tradition and theology.)
- Help coordinate the worship space and furniture in a way that is conducive to worship
- Work with Lead Pastor to develop an Order of Worship
- Work with the Lead Pastor and Pastoral Care Assistant to coordinate the Service of Holy Communion
- Communicate with Publications Coordinator about information to be included in the weekly bulletin, website, or newsletter
- Develop annual budget for music and worship ministry
