QUALIFICATIONS
A valid Georgia Educator Certificate in assigned teaching field as required by the Professional Standards Commission
Demonstrates an understanding and use of equitable and culturally responsive practices
Ability to apply instructional strategies on differentiation Strong organizational skills Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with school administrators, staff, students, and families.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES
Use appropriate, research-based methodology for instruction
Provide content development, establish high expectations for student performance and
assist all students in mastering academic standards
Promote student engagement in learning and provide appropriate assessments of student learning progress
Use student progress data to develop teaching strategies
Respond to adequate and inadequate student performance
Support students with encouragement
Utilize time efficiently
Maintain effective physical setting for instruction
Compile, maintain and submit all required reports in a timely manner
Maintain appropriate student behavior in the classroom
Follow professional practices consistent with school and system policies in working with students, student records, parents and colleagues
Adhere to the Code of Ethics for Educators in Georgia, as established by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission
Integrate the use of technology in the classroom
Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: some lifting (50 pounds), carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 30% sitting, 40% walking, and 30% standing.
