The Music Director position is responsible for all music related activities, leading the music ministry, ensuring that music is theologically sound and conducive for worship at MOF. Worship Service

  • Thursday @ 6pm & 7pm (times set by Music Director) Music Director
  • Job Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Provide general leadership for the Music Ministry Oversee and resource music at all worship services, which includes being the principal musician.

Skillful in playing organ/keyboard during scheduled worship services Teach music and vocal parts and explain liturgical concepts Plan Sunday morning services in consultation with pastor(s) and/or worship planning team Supervise all paid and volunteer staff in music ministry Partner with audio ministry Assist congregation into worship through music and songs Plan worship and choir music in light of sermons, liturgical calendar and special events. Meet with pastor and/or staff monthly Music Director may be requested to play for weddings and/or funerals. Lead and direct the Praise Team & Choir(s) Prepare for and conduct weekly rehearsals. Direct and prepare choir with varied levels of vocal experience for worship services Train and lead voices within choir and/or praise team Oversee community/outreach engagement opportunities with choir.   • minimum 4+ years experience in lead musician role. Bachelor’s degree is required. Seminary or graduate highly preferred. Leadership ability
  • able to work collegially with musicians, choir members, pastor, other leaders and congregation Theologically grounded
  • able to articulate a theology of worship that demonstrates a solid grasp of historic and biblical principles and contemporary issues in Christian worship Liturgical Calendar
  • able to understand liturgical calendar and Christian year Musically trained
  • able to read and teach music (specifically hymns) and understands music from a variety of genres and generations, with particular emphasis on hymns, praise and worship and contemporary/gospel music Spiritual Competency
