8K a year 8 hours ago Qualifications Music Mid-level 3 years Bachelor’s degree Communication skills Teaching Full Job Description Director of Music Ministry The Director of Music Ministry is responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of a comprehensive music program to facilitate the full and active participation of the congregation in the liturgical life of the Catholic church.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s Degree in Music with a strong knowledge of Catholic worship.
• Experience and proficiency in playing the organ and piano/ keyboard at a professional level.
• Experience in teaching and conducting adult and children’s choirs and cantors in a Catholic Church.
• Proficiency in conducting and singing.
• Ability to collaborate with other instrumentalists.
• Minimum of 3 years related experience in music ministry.
• Excellent communication/people skills.

Responsibilities :

• Direct and perform music at 4 weekend Masses, all Holy days, Parish retreats, Penance services, and any other parish sponsored events that require music.
• Research, select, and prepare musical accompaniments for all liturgies and services.
• After planning all musical liturgies, prepare worship aids for the congregation.
• Recruit and teach adult and children choir members and cantors (SATB music).
• Conduct weekly structured choir and cantor rehearsals.
• Plan and play at funerals and weddings, which includes finding cantors for these services.
