Job Overview Chapel Music Services Provides music services for the Protestant Worship Service at Shaw Air Force Base. Lead contemporary worship for the Protestant service, fostering connection among the congregation and setting an atmosphere conducive to congregational worship. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: playing, singing, practicing and scheduling music for Protestant worship in collaboration with the Lead Protestant Chaplain. Requirement s 2 or more years of college in music performance (or related field), or equivalent years of experience leading contemporary worship in a chapel/church setting. experience and knowledge playing contemporary Protestant worship music. Rehearsals and Worship Services The contractor shall coordinate, organize, prepare, recruit and direct musicians, choir members, and musical leadership during rehearsals, worship and performances in reference to the Protestant music program. The contractor shall perform at worship services every week on Sunday, as well as leads weekly rehearsals. The contractor shall arrange Protestant Service schedule to allow special rehearsals and services. All rehearsals and worship services will take place at the Shaw AFB. The contractor shall be notified at least twenty-four hours in advance of a projected move. Music Program Review The contractor shall meet with the Protestant Service Chaplain or designated chaplain periodically to discuss/review the status of the music program.
Expected hours:
2 – 4 per week $30.00 per hour. Max 4 hours per week: 1 Practice & 1 Performance unit per week (52) Worship services (52) Weekly rehearsals (5) Special service performances a. Christmas Eve b. Good Friday c. Special Praise nights (as scheduled by the Protestant Parish Paster and coordinated at least 14 days in advance) (5) Special service rehearsals (114) TOTAL units (contractor shall not exceed)
