un ⚐ ⚑ ⚑ Live Musical Theater

  • Lighting and Audio Professionals LX / AV (South Miami) compensation: comp relevant to experience and the gig, some work will be a set rate for the gig, other work could be hourly rate TBD I am adding to my roster of candidates to fill current and upcoming roles in our full schedule of Musical Theater Shows, summer, fall, winter of 2025-26

  • The gigs are primarily in support of our conservatory/educational programs, successful high performing candidates will jump to the top of the list to be considered for roles in our local and regional professional shows.
  • MUST have live musical theater experience/credentials. Recent graduates with limited professional experience also please submit info.
  • Roles are quite broad, and most often can cover all aspects from design, engineering, electrical & hang, tuning/focus, instrument and actor mic’ing, board programming and operation, console mixing, through tech rehearsals and show runs.
  • Must really have the skillset to interrogate a script, get advisory from the TD / Show Director / Stage Manager and take it / own it from thereon.
  • The environment is actually fairly static, you wont necessarily be cabling or hanging from scratch, more likely just making adjustments in equipment positioning.
  • Many of the conservatory productions, work from the base of the professional production.
  • We strive to get as much as is possible programmed with presets.

  • A typical gig would be 4 days of Tech followed by 3 days of performances, and many shows repeat for 2 or 3 weeks with different students casts.
  • The day to day time range leans more heavily on weekdays from 4pm to 10pm, plus afternoon and evening performances on Friday and weekends.
  • Summer work may also crossover to daytime support of Summer programs.
  • There are also more straightforward, showcase, variety and cabaret gigs on the calendar.
  • Compensation relevant to experience and the actual responsibilities which are defined show by show.
  • Candidates must send resume and a cover note/email narrative in regards to specific skillsets, self ratings on your expertise in different, and limitations.
  • And as you can with the information above, give some indication of your compensation expectations, and general availability/flexibility,
  • These are NOT full time roles, so please don’t ask about such All roles are Independent Contractor gig roles, definitive roles and responsibilities will be detailed in any contract.
