The Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam is soliciting applicants for a full-time, 10-month Accompanist position starting in September 2025. This is a one-year position with the possibility of renewal. Job Requirements & Essential Functions of the
Job:
Duties:
Total accompanying load is 240 hours per 15-week semester
Primarily, the person in this position will rehearse and perform with undergraduate students in lessons, studio classes, juries, levels, dress rehearsals and recitals
Related to this, the person in this position will need to
Work with the other Crane staff accompanists, under the guidance of the Accompanying Coordinator, to assign students to staff accompanists each semester.
Schedule and conduct rehearsals with students
Maintain accurate records of rehearsal hours Other accompanying assignments may include performing with faculty, ensembles or other courses, and/or accompany auditioning voice students during live on-campus audition days.
This position will require some work during evening and weekend hours, and potentially could involve work at off-site locations.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Piano or related field
Significant experience as a collaborative pianist

Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate degree in Collaborative Piano or related field
Significant experience as a collaborative pianist with a variety of instruments and voices
Strong organizational skills
