Schedule:
Marching Rehearsals typically Mon, Tue and Thu, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM (subject to change), Fall Football games Friday Nights, Saturday competitions, and community events on weekends and evenings as scheduled
Job Summary:
We are seeking enthusiastic and skilled individuals to join the high school band staff in temporary part-time positions. Band Staff Assistants will support instruction, rehearsals, and performance preparation. This dynamic role requires strong communication skills, dedication, and the ability to collaborate effectively with students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist band directors with music instruction, marching techniques, and drill choreography. Provide sectionals and individual support to help improve student performance. Help manage rehearsals and maintain a positive, focused environment. Support students with equipment setup, logistics, and uniform preparation. Attend all scheduled rehearsals, performances, football games, and competitions. Work collaboratively with band staff to ensure a cohesive program. Encourage discipline, teamwork, and musical excellence among students.
Qualifications:
Experience in marching band instruction, music education, or performance Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to motivate and connect with high school students Proficient in reading music and understanding marching fundamentals Reliable, punctual, and committed to the full season schedule Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with others Must meet all district employment requirements, including criminal background checks
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous marching band or drum corps experience, or symphonic performance experience Experience working with high school students in a musical setting Ability to support the instruction of multiple sections or instruments
