About the Role We’re seeking a part-time drum teacher to provide private lessons for students ages 4 to 18, ranging from beginner to advanced levels. You’ll prepare students for performances, competitions, and college auditions while making music fun and engaging every step of the way. Responsibilities Teach weekly private drum lessons (in-person) Select age-appropriate and level-appropriate music in a variety of genres (pop, R&B, musical theatre, jazz, classical, etc.) Prepare students for seasonal performances, recitals, and other events Provide a balance of technique, creativity, and performance coaching Inspire and motivate students by delivering high-quality, personalized lessons Help students set and achieve musical goals (e.g., Rising Star, performances, auditions) What We’re Looking For Warm, engaging personality with a student-first mindset Strong proficiency in drums/percussion (drums must be your primary instrument) Ability to teach fundamentals, rudiments, and reading drum music Familiarity with a range of genres and performance techniques 1-3 years of private lesson teaching experience (children and teens) Available for after-school and/or weekend lessons Bonus Points If You… Have experience preparing students for college or performance auditions Are also a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, or music producer What You’ll Love About FBAA “Teaching at FBAA has been such a great experience!
