The Meeting Tree Description:
Company One Theatre is seeking assistant stage managers for The Meeting Tree by B Elle Borders. The production will be directed by Summer L. Williams and performances will be held at the Strand Theatre. Rehearsals begin on June 17, which will be run by our rehearsal stage manager, with an expected start date for the performance stage manager to be in the week of June 30th. These rehearsals are scheduled weekly Tuesday through Saturday (weekday nights and weekend afternoons). Tech runs from July 12-17, first preview is on July 18, and opening is on July 19. The production runs July 19 – August 9, with performances Thursday – Saturday nights, Sunday matinees, and select Friday student matinees. Strike will be August 11 & 12.
RESPONSIBILITES
Toplete additional onboarding paperwork upon signature of this agreement, including but not limited to a vaccine form, personnel sheet, and submission of a short bio.
To collaborate with all project personnel in a cordial and collegial manner to create a positive and creative working environment.
To conduct themselves in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations, including those contained in this Agreement. The Company does not tolerate any illegal activities, including any discriminatory actions.
To secure transportation for themselves to and from all necessary meetings and rehearsals. Travel and parking costs will not be paid for or reimbursed by the Company. Independent contractors are expected to be available until the scheduled end time of rehearsals and tech week or until they are released by the Production Manager. The independent contractor understands that during tech week, end times could potentially be late in the evening. Late-night transportation will remain the responsibility of the independent contractor. To secure a stable internet connection for themselves for any digital meetings or rehearsals, as necessary. Some meetings will be held digitally, requiring an internet connection via aputer, phone, etcetera. Should the Independent Contractor be unable to access a reliable internet connection during the necessary times, they must inform the Company so the team can plan accordingly.
To ensure that they; at no time during rehearsals, production events/meetings, before performances, or during performances; are consuming or under the influence of alcohol or non-prescription mind-altering drugs. It is understood that should this occur the Independent Contractor may be dismissed from the production immediately and without advance warning. If the Independent Contractor has a legal prescription for a mind-altering substance and intends to potentially be under the influence during any of the aforementioned events, they must disclose this information to the Managing Director before signing this agreement.
To be fully vaccinated for
COVID-19
by the Production’s first rehearsal – as defined by current State and Federal guidelines.
To submit any additional work after opening night to the production manager for approval prior to that work being done.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as an Assistant Stage Manager for professional theatre required. Theatre degrees are weed but not required. Candidates from diverse backgrounds and/or traditionally under-represented groups are strongly encouraged to .
