Kennel Lead Hueytown Veterinary Clinic & Pet Lodge 265 Forest Rd, Bessemer, AL 35023 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Leader to oversee daily operations within our facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for animal care, ensuring that our team delivers exceptional service while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for all pets. This role is crucial in managing staff, coordinating activities, and providing excellent customer service to pet owners. Duties Supervise and train staff members, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Provide hands-on animal care, including pet sitting, grooming, and handling as needed. Assist with customer inquiries and provide outstanding customer service to enhance client satisfaction. Ensure the safety and well-being of all animals in the facility by monitoring their health and behavior. Coordinate with veterinary staff when necessary to address any medical needs of the animals. Maintain cleanliness of the facility, including kennels and common areas. Handle heavy lifting tasks related to animal care and facility upkeep. Requirements Previous experience in animal handling or care is preferred; experience as a veterinary assistant or in a kennel setting is a plus. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners. Knowledge of pet grooming techniques or dog training is desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as required by the job. A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
