Dog Kennel Assistant Bark Mountain Pet Resort 224 Commerce Parkway, Pelham, AL 35124 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the care and well-being of animals in our facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Your primary focus will be to ensure that all pets receive the highest level of care while maintaining a clean and safe environment. Responsibilities Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets. Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces to ensure a hygienic environment. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff or management. Assist with bathing and grooming as needed. Handle animals safely and effectively, ensuring their comfort during their stay. Provide excellent customer service by interacting with pet owners and addressing their inquiries. Support veterinary technicians or assistants in administering medications or treatments as directed. Keep accurate records of animal care activities and communicate effectively with team members. Skills Strong animal handling skills with experience in dog handling and general pet care. Knowledge of kennel operations and pet sitting services is a plus. Excellent customer service skills to foster positive relationships with pet owners. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. Attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and monitoring animal health. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
