Works under the supervision of the Office Manager, performing many ofthe same duties plusothers as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
? Takes phone calls and assists visitors to shelter, providing requestedinformation,directing visitors to proper area, and routing phone calls to properoffice.? Takes adoption applications, screens them, makes necessary phone callsand refers themto Director with recommendation.? Prepares adoption packets, assist adopters, collects adoption fee, andpresents adoptedanimal.? Assists Office Manager with adoption follow-ups.? Works surrender desk, scheduling and accepting surrendered and strayanimals andsending them to proper holding area.? Enters animal data into computer and assists in maintaining accurateand timely animalrecords.? Assists citizens reclaiming owned animals and collects appropriatefees.? Takes and maintains both lost and found animal reports.? Receives and distributes shelter supplies.? Media relations, record KNWA Pet of the Week and 40/29 Pets on Setsegments in theabsence of the Kennel Supervisors.? Supervises work performed by part-time Administrative Assistants.
Responsible foraccuracy and completion of daily tasks.? All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to performeach essential dutymentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below arerepresentative of the knowledge,skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Mental alertness and adaptability to office and field area workroutines. Equivalent to four yearshigh school, with particular emphasis during high school in officeskills, shop skills, or others,plus 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training. Or equivalentcombination of educationand experience. Must have knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR
FUNDS, PROPERTY and EQUIPMENTMaintains monetary transactions, balances cash drawer, and preparesnightly deposit records.
Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of office equipment such as desktop computer, laptops, copier and printer.
ANALYTICAL ABILITY / PROBLEM
SOLVINGModerately structured. Fairly broad activities using moderatelystructured procedures with onlygenerally guided supervision. Interpolation of learned things insomewhat varied situations.
SUPERVISORY
RESPONSIBILITIESSupervises 2 part-time non-supervisory employees. Carries outsupervisory responsibilities inaccordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
