Seasonal Kennel Attendant Roaring Brook Kennels Canton, CT 06019 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong commitment to providing exceptional service to both pets and their owners. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of the animals in our care while maintaining a clean and safe environment. Responsibilities Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets. Maintain cleanliness in kennels, play areas, and other facilities. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff. Assist with animal restraint during examinations or treatments as needed. Engage with pet owners, providing excellent customer service and addressing any questions or concerns. Support veterinary staff with basic tasks as required. Assist in training and socializing dogs to promote positive behavior. Perform heavy lifting when necessary, including moving supplies or larger animals. Skills Experience in pet sitting or animal care is highly desirable. Knowledge of veterinary practices is a plus. Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners. Proficient in animal handling techniques to ensure safety for both staff and animals. Ability to perform animal restraint when necessary for examinations or treatments. Familiarity with pet grooming practices is beneficial. Capability of performing heavy lifting as required by the role. Experience in dog training is advantageous but not mandatory.
