The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a commitment to providing exceptional grooming services. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for the overall grooming and care of pets, ensuring they look and feel their best while maintaining a safe and comfortable environment. Duties Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for various breeds of dogs and cats. Assess the health and condition of pets during grooming sessions and report any concerns to pet owners. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized after each use. Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about their pets’ needs and grooming preferences. Handle animals with care and ensure their comfort throughout the grooming process. Stay updated on grooming trends, techniques, and products to provide the best service possible. Assist in training new staff members in proper grooming techniques and animal handling practices. Qualifications Previous experience in pet grooming or a related field is preferred but not required; on-the-job training may be available. Skills in dog training, veterinary care, animal handling, or pet care are highly desirable. Familiarity with animal restraint techniques to ensure safety during grooming sessions. Ability to handle various breeds of dogs with different temperaments effectively. Strong communication skills to interact positively with pet owners and team members. A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being is essential. Certification as a veterinary technician or experience as a veterinary assistant is a plus but not mandatory.
