Groomer Position Available In Greater Bridgeport Planning Region, Connecticut

Groomer 2.7 2.7 out of 5 stars Newtown, CT 06470 We are Pleasant Paws Pet Center, and we are looking for an experienced groomer to join our team! We are a busy daycare, boarding, grooming, and veterinary service facility located in Newtown, Connecticut. You would be working closely with our Customer Service Representatives and our daycare and boarding staff to provide grooming services to all clients. To be successful in this position, you should be patient and kind, have a great understanding of pet care and pet body language, and fantastic customer service skills. The schedule for this position will vary depending on the day. Full time employees will be required to be available during peak boarding times to accommodate our clients’ needs. When grooming is not busy, full time employees may be scheduled to provide coverage in other departments. Training will be provided for the other aspects of our business. We are also open to considering an Independent Contractor. Independent Contractors will enjoy unlimited earning potential and the ability to set their own schedule. Full time

Responsibilities:

• De-matting and detangling hair as required
• Bath, conditioning, and drying pets
• Trimming pets’ nails, brushing their teeth, and cleaning their ears
• Grooming and styling pets according to pet owners’ instructions or standard grooming styles.
• Accommodating special requests that pet owners may have.
• Identifying health issues in pets, such as ear infections, skin conditions, or tooth decay, and informing pet owners of these observations
• Ensuring that all pets are safe during the grooming process
• Routinely cleaning work area
• Recommending suitable products from our retail boutique to pet owners Requirements
• Certification a plus!
• 2+ years professional dog grooming experience and familiarity with common breed standard cuts (hand scissoring a plus!)
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
