Farm Hand / Farm Animal Care JP Farm Animal Sanctuary Inc Litchfield, CT 06759 Farm Hand / Farm Animal Care JP Farm Animal Sanctuary Job Description We need a dependable person who is capable of working solo, tending to our rescued farm animals: cows; pigs; chickens; and turkeys in Litchfield, Connecticut. Please apply only if you have the following: Must have at least 3 years large & small farm animal experience. Must be Covid vaccinated and boosted. Must have a reliable 4 wheel or all wheel drive vehicle. Must live within thirty minutes of the sanctuary. Must be 18 years or older with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Specifications:

Part time: 4.5-10 hours Starting wage at $20 an hour. Set schedule will be Sundays 3:30-8:00 Must be flexible to fill in when needed on following shifts weekly: 7:00-11:30am 3:30-8:00pm Work schedules can vary with additional hours.

Responsibilities:

Feeding, watering and caring for the animals. Mucking stalls, raking and cleaning in and around barns. Able to perform strenuous physical labor and lifting up to 50lbs. Able to follow detailed instructions and maintain animal care schedules. Able to communicate effectively regarding animal welfare in daily reports. Additional duties may include maintenance, repair and handyman skills.

Reliable, dependable and timely. Able to work in all weather conditions. Commitment to JP Farm’s animal care policy. Self motivated, self starter, self initiative, team player. Must have excellent animal behavior observation skills.
