Summary:
The Dog Groomer is responsible for providing exceptional grooming care services, techniques, and styles to a variety of dog breeds. Role and Responsibilities Professional grooming techniques for a variety of dog breeds Perform grooming services including clipping, combing, trimming, hand scissoring, medicated and general cleansing, parasite control baths, pawdicures, and ear cleansing. Perform grooming as requested for each pet using knowledge of canine characteristics, techniques, and styles: Reads written or receives oral instructions to determine clipping pattern desired. Ability and stamina to groom several dogs per day and perform pet bathing, treatments, and other specialty grooming services in a facility dedicated to the health and wellbeing of our best friends. Groom animals utilizing techniques which vary depending on type of hair, coat, breed and owner instructions, bathe and dry animals. Performing basic grooming services based on Pet Parent’s request. Performing services including trimming of nails, brushing, and teeth cleaning. Anal gland expression Inspecting pets for external signs of parasites, disease, or injury to report to pet parents. Sanitizing of all equipment used to groom pets. Maintaining a safe and sanitary work area to prevent risks to both humans and pets. Handling large and small dogs Working with pet parents to provide expert styling services and advice to keep pets healthy, happy and looking fantastic. Answering phones and scheduling appointments.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role has no supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications and Education Requirements Minimum of 1 complete year of stylist/pet grooming experience Passion for extraordinary customer service and the well-being of pets Must be comfortable working with animals, especially large and small dogs. Must be familiar with standard cuts for all breeds, including puppy cuts. Must be proficient in hand scissoring techniques, as well as various tools of the trade. Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly, upbeat manner. Compassion and patience while working with dogs. Strong attention to detail to ensure dogs stay safe and grooming comes out looking great. Must be reliable team player with positive attitude, enthusiastic and must have great work ethic.
