The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and experience in pet grooming, providing exceptional care and grooming services to our furry clients. This role involves working closely with pets of various breeds and temperaments, ensuring they are clean, comfortable, and well-groomed. Duties Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for dogs and other pets. Assess the condition of pets’ coats and skin to determine appropriate grooming needs. Handle animals safely and comfortably during grooming sessions, ensuring their well-being. Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, adhering to health and safety standards. Communicate with pet owners regarding their pets’ grooming needs and any observed health issues. Provide basic pet care services as needed, including feeding and exercising animals. Assist in the training of new staff members on proper animal handling techniques. Skills Proficient in pet grooming techniques with experience in handling various breeds. Strong animal handling skills to ensure safety for both the groomer and the pet. Knowledge of veterinary assistance practices is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling larger animals or equipment. Familiarity with animal restraint techniques to manage pets during grooming safely. Experience in dog training is beneficial for understanding behavior during grooming sessions. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners. Bilingual individual that speaks Spanish and English preferred.
