Position Overview:
As a Dog Walking and Pet Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing top-notch care and attention to clients’ beloved pets. Your responsibilities will include dog walking, cat care, in-home pet sitting at clients’ homes, dog boarding at the pet sitter’s home, and offering pet taxi services. This position requires a deep love for animals, excellent communication skills, and a strong sense of responsibility to ensure the well-being and happiness of the pets entrusted to your care. MUST live within 5-8 miles of Baldwin Park/Winter Park!
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Dog Walking:
Provide daily dog walking services for clients’ dogs, following designated routes and ensuring their safety and exercise needs are met. Keep dogs on a leash at all times and maintain control during walks to prevent accidents and ensure a positive walking experience. 2.
Cat Care:
Visit clients’ homes to care for their cats while they are away, including feeding, cleaning litter boxes, and providing companionship and playtime. 3.
In-Home Pet Sitting:
Stay at clients’ homes to care for their pets in their familiar environment while they are on vacation or away for an extended period. Follow feeding schedules, administer medications (if necessary), provide regular exercise, and offer companionship and affection to the pets. 4.
Dog Boarding:
Host dogs at your home for boarding services, providing a safe, comfortable, and loving environment during their stay. Engage in playtime, walks, and ensure the dogs’ dietary and medical needs are met according to the owners’ instructions. 5.
Pet Taxi:
Offer pet taxi services to transport pets to and from vet appointments, grooming sessions, or other locations as needed. 6.
Client Communication:
Maintain open and timely communication with clients, providing updates on their pets’ well-being and any concerns or special requests that arise. Respond to client inquiries and schedule appointments in a professional and courteous manner. 7.
Health and Safety:
Follow health and safety protocols to ensure the well-being of the pets and yourself during all activities. Be prepared to handle emergencies, and know when to seek veterinary care if necessary. 8.
Record Keeping:
Keep accurate records of the services provided, including dates, times, and any special notes or observations about the pets.
Qualifications and Skills:
Must have a working cell phone. Working car. Early morning – Mid day weekday shifts. (7:00am-12:00pm/1:00pm) Excellent Reading Comprehension/Following Instructions Flexible Weekend availability. Must be available to do In-Home sleepovers at clients home. Previous experience in pet care, such as dog walking, pet sitting, or working in a pet care facility, is preferred. Passion for animals and a genuine love for pets of all kinds. Knowledge of basic pet behavior, health, and safety practices. Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and address their concerns. Physical fitness and the ability to handle dogs and cats of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments. Responsible, reliable, and punctual in fulfilling pet care responsibilities. Flexibility in accommodating different schedules and the needs of various pets. Access to reliable transportation for pet taxi services (if applicable).
