Experienced Animal Caretaker Thyra’s Sanctuary Kissimmee, FL 34747 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Caretaker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal welfare and the ability to provide high-quality care to cats with health issues. This is a part-time position (12-15 hours per week) at a non-profit cat sanctuary located in the Disney area. Our morning shifts run from 8-Noon and our evening shift from 4:30 – 7pm. Your focus will be on feeding, medicating and cleaning, while engaging with our amazing cats. (We also have parrots). We are seeking someone who is experienced in checking BG, administering fluids, as well as oral meds and injections. Our ideal candidate will be familiar with holistic supplements and common feline diseases. Administer medications as directed by supervisor. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of animal enclosures, and common areas. Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to supervisor. Assist with basic animal husbandry tasks such as bathing and nail trims. Handle animals safely and effectively, ensuring their comfort during handling. Requirements Proven experience in animal care is required. Knowledge of animal physiology and behavior is a plus. Experience with medication administration and basic veterinary procedures. Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including lifting animals, carrying cases of food and litter, & navigating stairs numerous times a day.
