Job Summary The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year experience grooming pets independently in a professional environment and a love for animals. You will be responsible for providing high-quality grooming services, ensuring the safety and comfort of pets while enhancing their appearance. The Charming Canine offers you maximum freedom to schedule the number of dogs that you can handle without sacrificing quality or care. Quality and Care are the touchstones of our business. You are under no pressure to add dogs and possibly jeopardize the quality of your work. We give our experienced groomers all the autonomy they need to manage their own time. You can expect to earn $65K-100K per year, depending on your speed and skill level. including up to 50% commission and tips. Let us take care of the phones and the bookings. Responsibilities Perform grooming services to include bathe, blow/fluff dry, brush out and/or furminate, clean and/ or pluck ears, clip and/or Dremel nails. Must be able to lift 75+lb dog into tubs. Assess the condition of pets’ coats and skin to determine appropriate grooming techniques. Keep accurate records of services performed on each pet, including any special instructions from owners. Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, adhering to hygiene standards and protocols. Monitor pet health and recognize any potential issues during grooming sessions and communicate any issues with the client. Requirements Minimum One Year Grooming Experience Awareness of Current Industry Trends Tools of the Trade (Clippers, Shears, Combs, Brushes, etc) W2 only, no independent contractors. Reliable, punctual, and committed to a growing team You should be able to groom a minimum of 6 to 8 dogs per day. Hand scissoring skills and knowledge of all breeds’ cuts, grooming requirements and styles. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills to interact with pet owners effectively. Creative stylist with skills in dying, coat carving and air brush would be a tremendous plus but not required.
