Dog Walker/Pet Sitter Part-Time Venice Dog Walkers LLC Venice, FL 34293 Job Summary We are seeking a few dedicated and passionate Dog Walkers & Sitters to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and the ability to provide excellent care and companionship to dogs during their walks. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy being active outdoors and want to contribute positively to the lives of pets and their owners. Responsibilities Walk dogs in various weather conditions, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Provide basic training commands during walks to reinforce good behavior. Monitor each dog’s health and behavior, reporting any concerns to the owner. Ensure that dogs are properly hydrated and take breaks as needed. Maintain a clean environment by picking up after the dogs during walks. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their dog’s needs and behaviors. Assist in basic grooming tasks as needed, such as brushing fur or cleaning paws post-walk. Handle multiple dogs at once, ensuring they are well-managed and under control at all times. Qualifications Proven experience in animal handling or care, particularly with dogs of various breeds and sizes. Knowledge of dog training techniques is preferred but not required. Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners. Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant is a plus but not mandatory. A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being is essential. Flexibility in scheduling is preferred, including availability on weekends or holidays if needed. Occasional overnight pet care may be requested. Must live in Venice or Wellen Park areas due to proximity of clientele. This may be the perfect position for active retirees. Primarily looking for morning and midday availability in applicants. This is NOT a seasonal position.
