Dog Groomer Summerville Veterinary Clinic 94 Old Hix Street, Summerville, GA 30747 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a commitment to providing exceptional grooming services. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of pets while delivering high-quality grooming services that enhance their appearance and comfort. Responsibilities Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for various breeds of dogs and cats. Assess the condition of pets’ coats and skin, identifying any issues that may require veterinary attention. Handle animals safely and compassionately, using appropriate restraint techniques when necessary. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized after each use. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming options, pet care tips, and any observed health concerns. Provide excellent customer service to ensure a positive experience for both pets and their owners. Keep detailed records of each pet’s grooming history and any special needs or requests from owners. Requirements Proven experience in pet grooming or related fields such as veterinary assistance or animal handling is preferred. Knowledge of various dog breeds, grooming techniques, and animal behavior is essential. Skills in animal restraint and handling to ensure the safety of both pets and staff during grooming sessions. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills to interact with pet owners professionally and empathetically. Certification in pet grooming or related fields is a plus but not mandatory. A genuine love for animals and commitment to their care is essential for success in this role.
