Job Description
Animal Caretaker 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars Newnan, GA 30263 Well established and growing company is looking for an Animal Caretaker/ Picker for its facility in Newnan, GA. Ideal candidate will have a passion for birds and small companion animals and be available to work Sunday-Thursday 8am -4:30 pm.
Responsibilities:
Cleans and maintains birds and small animals. Feeds birds and small animals pursuant to appropriate feeding schedules. Unloads, organizes and places animals in the appropriate enclosures in accordance with Apet’s standards of care. Provides daily visual inspection of all animals, enclosures, and products and notifies management of any issues or concerns. Maintains safe working environment, keeping all areas clear and clean. Safely selects and packs birds and small companion animals for delivery to customers. Provides additional support for warehouse operations as needed.
Skills and Qualifications :
Maintains safe and compassionate animal handling practices, at all times, while performing job duties. Ability to work independently. Willingness to learn about all aspects of the animal care industry. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but is not required.
Physical Demands:
Employee is frequently and regularly required to lift and carry in excess of 30-50 pounds, stoop, kneel or bend. The ability to stand for long periods of time is required. The ability to transport, handle and place animals in their appropriate enclosures is required. Employee must be able to move animals for shipping or that are received, including pushing, bending, kneeling, and twisting. In performing duties, employee is regularly required to use hands to grasp; and to reach with hands and arms, at or above shoulder level. Ability to work in a moderately noisy environment.
