The Assistant Manager will work closely with the General Manager to oversee the daily operations of the dog daycare facility, ensuring a safe, fun, and enriching environment for canine guests. This position requires strong leadership, excellent customer service skills, and a genuine love for dogs.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management & Leadership:
Assist in the hiring, training, and supervision of daycare staff. Help create and maintain staff schedules. Provide feedback and coaching to staff to ensure high performance. Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Daycare Operations:
Oversee daily operations, including check-in/check-out procedures. Ensure the safety and well-being of all dogs in playgroups and boarding. Monitor dog interactions and manage playgroups effectively. Administer medication or first aid as required.
Customer Service:
Greet clients and their dogs with a friendly and welcoming attitude. Address client inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally. Provide excellent customer service to both pet parents and their dogs. Maintain client records and ensure accurate information.
Facility Maintenance:
Ensure the facility is clean, organized, and safe at all times.
Administrative Support:
Assist with administrative tasks such as answering phones, processing payments, and making appointments. Utilize training opportunities for staff and help coach on company policies and procedures. Maintain and utilize reporting to drive sales and service.
Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a dog daycare, boarding, or animal care facility. Minimum of 1 year of management or leadership experience, preferably managing teams. A genuine passion and love for dogs of all breeds and sizes. Strong knowledge of dog behavior and body language. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in basic computer applications. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
