Pet Care Technician 3.1 3.1 out of 5 stars 1013 Greensboro Rd, Eatonton, GA 31024 The following is a list of major duties and responsibilities for this position along with certain supportive duties to ensure our guests are Safe, Happy & Healthy. This is not all-inclusive. Other duties and responsibilities may be added as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Dog Handling Interact with dogs in playgroups using appropriate toys and tools to ensure safe levels of play and minimizing stress levels of all dogs in playgroup. Maintain visual observations of dogs at tall times and spread attention and play among all dogs in playgroup. Control level of play by following dog management and control procedures and instructions provided by management. Use proper dog handling techniques, introductions procedures and correction methods as instructed by management. Ensure you know all dogs in playgroup and can properly identify them. If not, request assistance from other staff or management. Watch all new dogs carefully and immediately consult with management if you have concerns. For all dogs in playgroup, report any unusual behavior, or eliminations and injuries to management immediately. Ensure that all staff that relieve you for break or shift change know all the dogs in group, the special needs dog status and any unusual behaviors or concerns you have been managing during your shift. Cleaning & Organization Discard pet stools ad record each pet’s elimination habits. Clean and sanitize water bowls, play equipment and other toys. Clean and sanitize all pet enclosures, exercise yards and common areas. Assist in maintaining cleanliness throughout the facility including cleaning dog beds, bathing, feeding, etc. Mix and use disinfectants and other chemicals safely as instructed by shift lead. Organization and time management in strong thorough cleaning skills. Other Keep a working 2-way radio at all times when managing dogs. Request back-up coverage prior to leaving the playgroup floor. Follow all company procedures. Ensure daily tasks are completed on schedule and accurately.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience Six months to one year of experience caring for pets. Previous experience in a professional pet environment preferred (e.g. shelter, rescue organization, kennel, vet office). Physical Requirements Stand for long periods of time. Lift 50-75lbs. Ability to physically manage and handle large dogs. Bend and lift several times per day. Walk regularly throughout the day. Work around pet hair and dander. Open to work all holidays and weekends year-round. There’s nothing more rewarding than giving pets the best of the best! Does this sound like you?
