Dog Daycare Assistant Manager The Doghouse is a new 5100 sq. ft boarding, daycare and grooming facility with several outdoor areas for dogs to play. We are looking for an experienced Dog Daycare Assistant Manager to help lead the team in our facility. You will have the opportunity to share our passion and vision by building our unique experience for our pet friends and their families. As the Assistant Manager, you will work directly with the General Manager/Owner to provide a smooth and profitable operation by driving revenue and managing costs while creating a culture based on high-quality care and exceptional customer service.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervision of staff and day-to-day operations Scheduling Oversee staffing needs including hiring, training, disciplining and terminating as required Develop and implement our policies and ensures compliance Manage client relationships Playgroup, boarding and grooming activities as needed. The Assistant General Manager will need to be available as needed to perform all facility duties. Ensure the facility is kept in spotless clean sanitized condition. Ensures that all service systems are executed properly in a clean, safe, and friendly environment, according to all established procedures, performance standards and company values. Ensures our operations adhere to new or established productivity and service standards with a sufficient number of well-trained and productive employees. Supports sales by focusing the staff on image and service actions to enhance the customer’s perception of their pet’s experience at our facility. Ensures proper management of the facility and equipment through preventive maintenance, energy conservation, repairs, security measures, and adherence to safety and sanitation requirements. Conducts employment activities, including staffing (hiring/separation responsibilities), scheduling, and training, and issuing employee corrective actions. Ensures the thorough training and development of all back-of-the-house personnel, and the documentation thereof. Monitor play groups when needed, and feeding and medicating. Assist the team with the overall duties of the facility. Required Skills Excellent verbal communication skills and leadership presence Ability to train, coach, develop, and retain staff Computer literate with ability to use internet, e-mail, Word and Excel spreadsheets in a professional setting Ability to multi-task to manage labor costs and guest care/activity systems, during a shift. Analytical, solution-oriented approach to business and operations problems Ability to motivate and manage employee performance consistently and fairly, using praise and corrective actions as appropriate Genuine liking for people with a desire to make the customer experience and the employee work experience pleasant, welcoming, and memorable. Communicating and connecting company mission and values to daily operations Significant work experience in the pet care industry Desired Experience and Education Bachelor’s in business or related field desired. 1+ years management experience in a pet facility or pet care environment 2+ customer service Excellent work history and references with a record of career progression The ideal candidate will have the following skills: Must be comfortable around dogs of all sizes Must be able to work flexible shifts as needed. Staff management including:
coaching, development, performance appraisals, and resolution management. Problem-solving and conflict management skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Organizational and time management skills. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, and Email) Must be able to handle multiple tasks and remain flexible with assigned duties. 1-3 years’ experience in a Manager role. 1-3 years of customer service experience. Must have experience in a pet resort/hospital setting in positions of increased responsibility. Possess a valid driver’s license. Access to reliable transportation.
