1 RFK Community Alliance has an exciting opportunity for a full or part-time Lead Stable Staff to join our Therapeutic Horsemanship Center in Lancaster MA! A $2500 sign-on bonus is available!
Who We Seek
Rein In a Dream (RIAD), our premier accredited therapeutic horsemanship center, is seeking an experienced Lead Stable Staff member to join our team. The position supports the center’s mission to create a therapeutic and supportive environment to meet the unique needs of the students we serve. Our warm and welcoming center encompasses 30 acres of pastures, hay fields, a renovated antique barn and indoor riding arena. The natural environment along with our horses and small farm animals creates a holistic setting for healing, learning and personal growth.
Responsibilities The Lead Stable Staff supports the overall daily operations by providing care to the animals and assists with barn chores.
Conduct morning and/or evening feeding of horses and small farm animals, turn in/out horses.
Provide minor medical care to horses and small animals as required.
Cleaning and maintaining stall, paddock, and small animal habitats.
Assist with maintaining the facilities and grounds to ensure a clean and safe environment.
Maintain aisle ways, tack room, offices, and storage areas to free from debris, dust, and trash.
Receive and stack barn supplies such as grain, supplements, tack, and horse maintenance items.
Assist the riding instructor with grooming and tacking horses as needed for horsemanship lessons.
Provide lesson support to the riding instructor as a leader or side-walker.
Assist with the conditioning of horses based on horsemanship skills. Requirements 3 years’ experience working at a fully operational horse riding and/or boarding facility
Intermediate horsemanship skills
Provide minor medical for horses and small animals.
Experience working with and caring for small farm animals is a plus
Capable of working and caring for the herd and small animals independently
Ability to identify illness in the animals and administer minor medical care
Stamina and strength to manage daily physical chores and lift 50 plus pounds
Ability to work in inclement weather
Detailed oriented with strong organizational skills
Strong work ethic, be a flexible thinker, presents in a welcoming and professional manner
Compassion to work in a program that serves children and adults with special needs Shift Full or Part time schedule, includes one weekend day

Hourly Range:

Comprehensive Employee Assistance Program $2,500 Sign-On Incentive This position is eligible for the RFK Community Alliance Sign-On Incentive in the amount of $2,500 in your first year of employment. You will receive $500 after 3 months; $500 after 6 months; $1,500 after 12 months.
