Canine Supervisor 1.5 1.5 out of 5 stars 9 Swallow Road, South Paris, ME 04281 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervisor to lead our team in providing exceptional care and services for animals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care, including dog training and handling, and will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring the well-being of the animals, and delivering excellent customer service. This role requires a passion for animals, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and clients. Duties Supervise daily operations within the facility, ensuring high standards of animal care and safety. Train and mentor staff in best practices for animal handling, restraint, grooming, and care. Oversee scheduling and coordination of staff, adoption appointments , and veterinary visits. Maintain accurate records of animal health, behavior, and client interactions. Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly while providing excellent service. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols related to animal care. Collaborate with veterinary professionals to monitor the health of animals in our care. Develop and implement policies to enhance operational efficiency and improve service quality. Performs general administrative work and all state reporting. Interacts with Animal Control Officers regarding strays, neglect and animal abuse situations. Oversees social media promotion of canines that are available for adoption. Trains new employees and volunteers. Works with staff behavior consultant and trainer as necessary Qualifications Proven experience in animal care or related fields. Strong knowledge of dog training techniques and animal handling practices. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients. Experience working in a kennel or similar environment is preferred. Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail. Strong leadership skills with the capability to motivate and guide a team. A genuine passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing high-quality care.
