Animal Shelter Manager Tri-Lakes Humane Society 102 Washboard Hollow Rd, Reeds Spring, MO 65737 Job Overview The Animal Shelter Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shelter, ensuring the well-being of all animals in care, and managing staff and volunteers. This role requires strong leadership skills, a passion for animal welfare, and the ability to effectively communicate with both team members and the public. The manager will implement policies and procedures to enhance shelter operations while promoting a positive environment for both animals and staff. Responsibilities The Shelter Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the Animal Shelter including client services, animal needs, and facilities management The position manages 7 staff members directly Ensures appropriate training and development for department staff and applicable volunteers Actively participates in management, supervisory and board meetings This is a key position responsible for the smooth operation of the Shelter Lead and mentor a team of staff, ensuring top-notch training and development Manage staffing needs, conduct performance reviews, and make impactful hiring decisions Coordinate adoption events and collaborate with external partners to promote our mission Act as the primary escalation point for staff, addressing challenges and ensuring safe practices Participate in strategic planning and budgeting to enhance our shelter’s future Communicate frequently with members of the community and others to carry out Essential Job Duties, coordinate fundraising efforts, and fosters good public relations This full-time position offers a salary of $45,000/year. The schedule for the position currently includes a weekend day, subject to change, with evening and on-call requirements. Qualifications You’re a proven leader with experience managing people and fostering a collaborative environment You can create and implement proper procedures for all areas of animal shelter operations You have strong skills in animal health, behavior, and handling You’re comfortable in a fast-paced, emotionally charged environment and can handle the challenges of working in a shelter

Schedule:

Must be available for a weekend day, with some evening and on-call duties You have experience hiring, scheduling, training, and evaluating staff Animal shelter or animal welfare: 2 years (Required)

Management:
