Dog Bather/Groomer Unleashed grooming Salon 5211 Main Street, Shallotte, NC 28470 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a commitment to providing exceptional grooming services. As a Pet Groomer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of pets while enhancing their appearance. This position requires strong animal handling skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Duties Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling various breeds of dogs and cats. Assess the condition of pets’ coats and skin, providing recommendations for care as needed. Handle animals safely and effectively, employing proper restraint techniques when necessary. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized after each use. Communicate with pet owners regarding grooming services, pet care tips, and any observed health issues. Provide additional services such as nail trimming, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing as requested by pet owners. Assist with heavy lifting of larger pets when necessary to ensure their comfort during grooming sessions. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a positive experience for both pets and their owners. Qualifications Previous experience in pet grooming or related fields such as veterinary assistance or animal handling is preferred. Strong knowledge of various dog breeds and their specific grooming needs is an asset. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger animals. Experience in pet sitting or working as a veterinary technician is advantageous but not mandatory. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members. A genuine love for animals and commitment to their care and well-being is essential. Certification in animal restraint or grooming techniques is a plus but not required.
