This role is perfect for individuals who love animals and have a keen eye for detail. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for providing high-quality grooming services to pets, ensuring they look and feel their best. You will work closely with pet owners to understand their grooming needs and preferences while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all animals. Duties Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, clipping, and styling pets according to breed standards or owner preferences. Ensure the safety and comfort of pets during grooming sessions by using appropriate handling techniques. Maintain cleanliness of the grooming area and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming options, pet care tips, and any observed health concerns. Provide additional services such as nail trimming, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing as needed. Handle animals with care and compassion, ensuring they are calm throughout the grooming process. Assist in scheduling appointments and managing client records as necessary. Skills Proficiency in pet care techniques including bathing, cutting, and styling fur. Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners and address their needs. Experience in animal handling and dog handling , ensuring safe interactions with various breeds. Knowledge of animal restraint methods to safely manage pets during grooming sessions. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, including lifting large dogs or equipment. Familiarity with basic pet sitting duties may be beneficial for additional service offerings. Understanding of basic dog training principles can enhance the grooming experience for both pets and owners. Background in veterinary practices is a plus but not required; however, a passion for animal welfare is essential.
