Flyaway Geese, a premier facility specializing in border collies for bird control and sheepdog work, is seeking a dedicated Overnight Walker and Farm Sitter to join our team on our beautiful sheep farm. 3-5 nights per week. About Us At Flyaway Geese, we breed, train, and deploy border collies for professional bird control and herding. Our dogs are trained for basic obedience, advanced stock work, and public interaction. We take pride in creating a positive environment where our dogs thrive, and our team works together to achieve excellence in every aspect of dog training.

Position Details Location:

Working farm with working dogs.

Schedule:

3-5 days per week

Daily Tasks:

Walk house dogs in the morning and evening (approx. 30 minutes each) Feed dogs and livestock and clean kennels periodically.

Workdays:

Arrive by 9 pm each day. Turn dogs into a fenced area to potty. Walk them again at 6 am.

Dogs:

Up to 25 border collies on-site at any given time. All training dogs are owned by Flyaway Geese—no outside dogs. Key Responsibilities Caring for dogs and puppies .Assist with weekday or weekend care, feeding, and kennel cleaning as needed on an hourly rate.

What We’re Looking For Experience:

Not necessary; we’re happy to train the right candidate! Prior dog training or animal handling experience is a plus.

Training Approach:

Use of shock collars or outside training tools is strictly prohibited. Candidates must be open to learning our proven training methods and understand the importance of using correction and pressure appropriately when training sheepdogs.

Temperament:

Must not own aggressive breed dogs. We have an on-site livestock guardian dog that will not tolerate aggressive dogs.
