The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a strong background in pet care. As a groomer at Pawtopia, you will be responsible for providing grooming services to various pets, ensuring their comfort and well-being while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and care. This role requires excellent animal handling skills, and the ability to work and communicate effectively with both pets and their owners. Responsibilities Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, clipping, and styling for a wide range of dog breeds. Nail trim capability for cats and small mammals is a plus but not required. Assess the condition of pets’ coats and skin to determine appropriate shampoos, conditioners, tools, and grooming techniques. Handle animals safely and compassionately, ensuring their comfort throughout the grooming process. Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, adhering to hygiene standards. Also assist with the general clean up of the salon. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ grooming needs and any health concerns observed during the grooming process. Perform some reception type duties including answering the phone/texts/emails, booking appointments, and checking in/out clients. Stay updated on the latest grooming techniques and trends in pet care. We offer paid continuing education! Experience 3+ years professional pet grooming required. Must have a working knowledge of computer based booking systems and word processers. Strong skills in animal restraint and care. Familiarity with breed specific clips is a plus. Excellent communication skills with pet parents and coworkers. Compensation/Benefits Hourly pay is based upon experience. Possibility for a commission bonus based on performance.
