Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Kennel Technician to provide exceptional care for the dogs in our boarding and daycare areas. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment, ensuring the dogs’ comfort and well-being, and providing them with exercise and socialization. Responsibilities:
Animal Care:
Provide food and water to dogs according to their individual needs and schedules. Administer medications as directed by clients and management. Monitor dogs for any signs of illness or distress and report any concerns to management. Provide dogs with exercise and playtime in designated areas. Ensure dogs receive proper socialization and interaction.
Cleaning and Sanitation:
Maintain a clean and sanitary environment in all kennel and daycare areas. Clean and disinfect kennels, runs, and common areas regularly. Dispose of waste properly. Maintain cleanliness of food and water bowls. Laundry of bedding and towels.
Dog Handling:
Safely handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments. Assist with dog check-in and check-out procedures. Monitor dog behavior and ensure safe interactions between dogs. Walking dogs on leashes.
Other Duties:
Assist with inventory management of supplies. Follow all safety protocols and procedures. Assist other staff members as needed. Maintain accurate records of feeding, medications, and any observed behaviors.
Qualifications:
A genuine love for dogs and a strong understanding of dog behavior. Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments. Excellent observation and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Ability to work in a noisy environment. Previous experience in animal care is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of dog breeds and behavior. Pet first aid and CPR certification (training can be provided)
Working Conditions:
Indoor and outdoor with the dogs. Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Must be comfortable working in a noisy environment with dogs.
