Full-Time Dog Kennel Attendant Head to Tail Grooming Cliffside Park, NJ 07010 Job Summary The Dog Kennel Attendant position requires a candidate to not only have strong animal handling and people skills, but also an exceptional work ethic in a fast paced work environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with people and animals alike. This position requires someone who is reliable, on time, and enjoys multitasking and staying active. This is a full time position with a recurring year round schedule. We are looking to add a long term staff member to our dedicated team. Duties Provide daily care for animals, including feeding and bathing. Maintain cleanliness of kennel areas, including cleaning cages, runs, and common areas. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to staff or management. Assist with animal restraint during grooming/bathing as needed. Provide excellent customer service to pet owners, answering questions and providing updates on their pets’ well-being. Support reception with basic tasks as required. Ensure all safety protocols are followed to maintain a safe environment for both animals and staff. Operate laundry and dish-washing equipment. Provide adequate food and water to boarding/daycare animals daily. Assist with transportation and training as requested by managers. Maintain daycare in an organized manner and keep supplies stocked. Maintain equipment in working condition, report equipment and supply needs to supervisor.

Work Environment:

Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, climbing stairs, walking and, standing on feet 8-10 hours per day while performing job functions. Exposure to disinfectant solutions when cleaning. Exposure to unpleasant odors and noises. Exposure to bites, scratches, and animal wastes. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations. Consistently exposed to animals and animal allergens under conditions with limited alterations available. Available to work weekends and overtime as needed. Highly motivated, out-going, polite, and professional manner. Team player, able to work in a fast-pace environment and multi-task. Reliable and punctual Requirements Experience in dog handling or pet care is preferred. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners. Previous experience in a kennel environment is a plus. Knowledge of animal restraint techniques and basic grooming skills is beneficial. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated. Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including lifting and moving animals when necessary.
