Equine Animal Care Manager Goats of Anarchy Hampton, NJ 08827 About us: Goats of Anarchy is a sanctuary for rescued farmed animals. Overview We are looking for an experienced equine caregiver to join our team as manager. This position is year-round. Our animals have been rescued from neglectful and/or abusive situations. Several of our equine residents are blind, elderly, or are recovering from trauma. These horses were all previously discarded and are not perfectly trained horses. We are looking for someone with confidence, patience, and compassion for rescued animals. We are home to over 250 rescued animals, including seven full-sized horses, two donkeys and four mini horses. Horses have access to shed row stalls, but most are on 24/7 turnout, besides meals. The current schedule available is Monday and Tuesday (all day), and half shifts on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The schedule can be negotiated upon hire. Opening shifts start at 7:30am, but afternoon shifts fluctuate slightly according to seasons. When employment opportunities become available in other areas of the sanctuary, picking up extra shifts is possible. Please email us if you are interested in joining our team! Responsibilities Working closely with the sanctuary founder, equine staff, volunteers, veterinarian, and farrier Ordering feed, supplements, supplies, and medications Feeding and administering medications Managing and scheduling staff and volunteers Some administrative duties, as needed On call for emergency situations Monitoring horses via security cameras Haltering and some blanketing Mucking seven stalls and fields Driving RTV and dragging fields Stocking hay and supplies Picking feet and grooming Qualifications Must have previous experience with equines and farm work Must be able to travel to, and work in inclement weather Must have reliable transportation and live within 30 minutes of the sanctuary Must be able to work weekends and holidays Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
