About Us:

Chucktown Charley is a small boutique pet retreat and learning experience on Johns Island, SC. With a focus on good manners, proper socialization, and ensuring each canine guest’s well-being, we are committed to offering a safe, fun, and stimulating space for the dogs in our care. Our environment is engaging, fast-paced, and rooted in growth opportunities. We host between 20 and 30 dogs per day. If you’re passionate about dogs and are ready to immerse yourself in an environment that embraces casual attire, a relaxed atmosphere, and flexible working hours, we’re excited to meet you!

Position Overview:

As a Canine Care Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in upholding our mission of creating a calm, well-balanced experience for every dog at our boutique pet retreat. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional care and engagement to our canine guests, ensuring their comfort, happiness, and overall well-being. You will work indoors and outdoors on your feet for most of each shift.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain a safe and clean environment for the dogs at all times. Foster positive interactions and proper socialization among dogs. Provide regular exercise, playtime, and mental stimulation to ensure the dogs’ physical and psychological health. Monitor dogs’ behavior and well-being, addressing any concerns promptly. Administer medications or special care instructions as needed. Collaborate with the team to ensure the smooth operation of daily activities. Participate in training and ongoing development opportunities to enhance your skills.

Qualifications:

Passion for and commitment to the well-being of dogs. Integrity and a growth mindset are central to your work ethic. An energetic, creative, and optimistic attitude Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and environments Efficient problem-solving skills and a calm demeanor under pressure Previous experience in dog care, animal behavior, or a related field is a plus, but we will train the right person.
