Pet Care Associate Alpha Dog Training’s Pooch Palace LLC 463 Long Point Rd, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Canine Handler to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong affinity for animals, particularly dogs, and possess the skills necessary to ensure their safety, well-being, and training. This role is essential in providing high-quality care and handling of canines in various settings, including kennels and play yards. Holidays and weekends You must be available. Must have reliable transportation. Duties Provide daily care for dogs, including feeding, grooming, and exercising. Ensure the safety and comfort of all canines in your care. Utilize animal restraint techniques when necessary to manage behavior during handling. Maintain cleanliness of kennels and surrounding areas to promote a healthy environment. Monitor the health and behavior of dogs, reporting any concerns to supervisors. Engage with pet owners to provide updates on their pets’ well-being and behavior. Perform heavy lifting as required for moving supplies or equipment related to canine care. Experience Previous experience in animal care or handling is preferred; experience as a veterinary technician or in dog training is a plus. Familiarity with animal restraint techniques and basic grooming practices is beneficial. Experience in pet sitting or working in a kennel environment will be considered an asset. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated. Strong communication skills for interacting with both animals and their owners.
