Job Summary:
We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Dog Groomer to join The Golden Dog team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals, a keen eye for detail, and hands-on grooming experience. As a Dog Groomer, you will be responsible for providing grooming services such as bathing, trimming, styling, nail clipping, and ear cleaning to ensure pets look and feel their best.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, haircuts, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and de-shedding. Follow breed-specific grooming standards or customer preferences. Handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments safely and compassionately. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming tools, equipment, and workspace. Communicate with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and provide post-grooming updates. Recognize and report signs of illness, injury, or unusual behavior to management or pet owners. Adhere to safety procedures to prevent injury to pets or staff.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Dog Groomer or completion of a certified grooming program. Knowledge of breed-specific cuts and grooming techniques. Physical stamina to handle animals and stand for extended periods. Patience and strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Certification from a grooming school (preferred but not always required).
Working Conditions:
Fast-paced environment. Exposure to pet hair, dander, and cleaning chemicals. Requires lifting dogs (sometimes 50+ lbs) and handling potentially anxious or aggressive animals.
