Very busy, upscale pet salon “Dippity Do Dog” is looking to hire a professional Dog Groomer, needed 5 days per week (8 to 3, Monday thru Friday). We are also open to part time and can be flexible with your schedule. Groom prices are good and this is your chance to make as much as you want, it’s up to you how much that is. W2 employment (taxes withheld for groomers) Responsibilities Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling of pets. Assess the condition of pets’ coats and skin, identifying any issues that may require veterinary attention. Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, adhering to safety and sanitation standards. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ needs and grooming options. Handle animals safely and compassionately, utilizing proper animal restraint techniques when necessary. Assist in scheduling appointments and managing client records. Stay informed about the latest grooming techniques and trends in pet care. Skills Strong customer service skills to ensure a positive experience for both pets and their owners. Experience as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant is a plus. Knowledge of animal restraint techniques to safely handle pets during grooming sessions. Familiarity with dog training methods can enhance interactions with pets. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger breeds or equipment. Previous experience in pet grooming is highly desirable. Background in pet sitting or kennel management can be beneficial.
