AncoraTN (ATN), formerly End Slavery Tennessee, works tirelessly to nurture survivor healing and strategically combat human trafficking in Middle Tennessee. We seek to break cycles of exploitation and support survivors of human trafficking as they heal from their traumas—offering long-term, comprehensive aftercare services. Through training communities and professionals, advocating for legal changes, and implementing prevention programming, AncoraTN works to stop human trafficking before it ever begins. AncoraTN was founded in 2012 as a faith-based, not-for-profit organization for the purpose of community awareness and education. POSITION SUMMARY
The Training and Advocacy Specialist is responsible for developing and delivering training programs, workshops, and resources to empower stakeholders, build capacity, and promote advocacy initiatives. This role involves collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and the community to advance organizational goals and create meaningful change and identification in the anti-Human trafficking field.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Training Development and Delivery Oversee agency training requests including with front-line professionals, community partners, and the general public. Design, implement, and evaluate training programs tailored to the needs of diverse audiences. Maintain updated training materials and presentations. Create instructional materials, such as presentations, toolkits, and handouts, to support training sessions. Coordinate awareness events such as setting up information tables at fairs, mission moments, and other outreach opportunities to increase AncoraTN’s visibility to the public. Facilitate workshops, webinars, and in-person training sessions to build skills and knowledge in anti-human trafficking or vulnerable populations. Facilitate training to staff at onboarding and ongoing as needed. Training and Data Monitor and evaluate training and advocacy initiatives to measure impact and outcomes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align training and advocacy goals with overall programs and organizational strategy. Prepare reports, case studies, and success stories to highlight program achievements. Community Engagement and Outreach Conduct outreach to engage underrepresented or underserved communities. Represent the organization at conferences, events, and public forums to promote training and advocacy initiatives. Act as a subject matter expert and resource for stakeholders seeking guidance on training or advocacy efforts. Advocacy Support the CPO and CEO to develop and execute advocacy strategies to advance organizational priorities. Provide technical assistance and mentoring to stakeholders, enhancing their ability to advocate effectively. All other duties as assigned. TN. WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is carried out primarily in an office setting with intermittent sitting, standing, walking and some light physical activity. Most work is performed while sitting and using the computer, phone and engaged in face-to-face conversation with staff and/or clients. Some car travel and use of personal vehicle is required. This position is a hybrid with a required minimum of two days a week in the office and expected time in the field. Work environment is at the discretion of the supervisor.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, public policy, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience or related experience in training, advocacy, program development, or a related area. Proven experience facilitating training and building capacity in diverse communities. Skills and Competencies Strong understanding of specific areas of advocacy, e.g., public policy, human rights, community development. Exceptional communication, presentation, and facilitation skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in specific tools, e.g., Microsoft Office, Zoom, Learning Management Systems. Experience with data collection, evaluation, and reporting. Ability to use critical thinking skills and creative problem solving a must.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Initial and subsequent random drug screening is required as per agency policy. A background check is required. Must be willing and able to embrace and exemplify our core values.
JOB TYPE
Full-time, typically Monday-Friday 8am-4pm, flexibility is required and must be willing to work some evenings and weekend hours, as needed to meet the needs of the role. Some travel may be required.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
Base Salary:
$54,000-$60,000 based on education and experience.
Benefits:
Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance. Eligible after 30 days of employment. $150.00/ month for therapy 120 hours PTO accrued 10 hours/ month. Eligible after 30 days of employment. 96 hours sick leave accrued 4 hours/ pay period.
