The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a strong commitment to providing exceptional grooming services. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of pets while delivering high-quality grooming services that enhance their appearance and comfort. Duties Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling of various breeds of dogs and cats. Assess the condition of pets’ coats and skin to determine appropriate grooming techniques. Handle animals safely and effectively, using proper restraint techniques to ensure their comfort and safety during grooming. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the grooming area, including sanitizing tools and equipment after each use. Communicate with pet owners about their pets’ grooming needs, behavior, and any health concerns observed during grooming sessions. Provide additional services such as nail trimming, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing as needed. Collaborate with veterinary staff when necessary to address any health issues or special needs of the pets. Requirements Previous experience in pet grooming or related fields such as veterinary care or animal handling is preferred. Strong knowledge of various dog breeds, coat types, and appropriate grooming techniques. Skills in animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both the groomer and the pet. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger breeds or multiple pets. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members. A compassionate approach towards animals with a focus on their well-being. Certification in pet grooming or related fields is a plus but not mandatory.
