The Kennel Attendant plays a vital role in providing compassionate, attentive care for boarding and hospitalized pets. This position involves maintaining a clean, safe, and fun environment for animals while also assisting with scheduling boarding reservations and engaging with clients. Ideal candidates are dependable, detail-oriented, and passionate about animal care.
Key Responsibilities:
Animal Care & Kennel Maintenance Feed, water, and monitor the health and behavior of boarded and hospitalized animals. Walk dogs and provide supervised playtime to ensure proper exercise and enrichment. Clean and disinfect kennels, play areas, and animal care equipment regularly. Bathe and groom pets as requested, including nail trims and basic hygiene care. Administer medications or treatments as directed by veterinary staff. Client Services & Scheduling Schedule and confirm boarding appointments, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records. Greet clients warmly and communicate boarding policies and procedures clearly. Assist in checking pets in and out, ensuring all belongings are accounted for. Maintain accurate records of feeding, medications, and behavior notes during the pet’s stay. Play & Enrichment Engage pets in structured playtime and enrichment activities to reduce stress and promote well-being. Monitor group play and ensure safety and compatibility of animals during social interactions. Provide individual attention and affection to help animals feel secure and loved. Team Support Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless care and communication. Restock supplies and report inventory needs. Observe and report any signs of illness, injury, or distress to appropriate staff promptly to manager to owner.
Qualifications:
Prior experience working with animals (kennel, daycare, shelter, or veterinary setting preferred). Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts as needed. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and be on your feet for extended periods. Passion for animals and commitment to high standards of care.

$9.00 – $12.00 per hour
