Duties:

The Petcare Attendant will be tasked with ensuring a safe environment for dogs and staff and interacting with dogs in playgroups using appropriate tools to ensure safe levels of play.

Detailed job duties include:

Maintain an environment that is safe, clean, and comfortable for pets to play. Use proper dog handling techniques and follow dog management and control procedures and instructions. Maintain clean playrooms, yards, and other areas as assigned. Observe all dogs at all times in assigned playgroup and be able to identify them. Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding the health, safety, and well-being of our furry guests. Keep an eye out for any health concerns. Work within a tight-knit team to ensure our Core Values are upheld.

Qualifications and Skills:

Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to stay on your feet for extended periods of time and endure weather changes. Must be comfortable handling different breeds and dog sizes in a larger group setting. Must be able to communicate effectively and have the willingness for continuous learning and working in a team. Must be patient in dealing with various dog personalities. Must be attentive to details while monitoring dog behaviors.

Training and experience:

Petcare Attendants will receive on-the-job training that includes learning the facility’s policies and procedures, how to interact with dogs, and how to clean and disinfect the facility. Training also includes learning how to use equipment and tools for proper dog handling.
