Balanced Dog Trainer Job Summary:
Join our SWFL team, at our Award-Winning Fort Myers location as a Balanced Dog Trainer and immerse yourself in a rewarding role within the pet care industry. We are seeking a dedicated individual with a deep passion for dog training to provide exceptional service to our clients. As a Balanced Dog Trainer, you will be instrumental in conducting training sessions, addressing behavioral issues, and ensuring the well-being of the dogs in our care. Your role will involve creating strong bonds between dogs and their owners while promoting positive reinforcement techniques.
Duties:
- Conduct Private one-on-one training sessions with dogs of varying breeds and temperaments, as well as daily stay and trains through our day camp.
- Assess and address behavioral issues through positive reinforcement / balanced training methods.
- Develop customized training plans tailored to each dog’s specific needs and goals.
- Educate dog owners on effective training techniques and strategies for continued success.
- Maintain detailed records of each dog’s progress and behavior during training sessions.
- Assist in the care and supervision of dogs in group training settings or kennel environments.

Puppy Behavior Shaping (under 16 weeks) Basic Commands Crate Training Potty Training Manners Boundaries Basic Obedience Sit Stay Down Watch Leave It Leash Walking Intro to Recall & Heeling Advance Obedience Advanced Heeling Advanced Recall Extended Sit, Stays, & Recall Impulse Control Hand Signal Commands Behavior Issues (Not limited to) Jumping, Barking, Anxiety including Separation Aggression, Rough Play, Hyperactivity, Digging, Destruction Territorial towards owners or others.
Leash Pulling, Lunging, Escaping or Bolting, Resource Guarding Compulsive Behaviors, Counter Surfing Additional Skills:
- Proficiency in balanced dog training methodologies, including positive reinforcement and behavior modification.
- Ability to handle dogs with care, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with both dogs and their owners.
- Flexibility to adapt training techniques based on individual dog personalities and learning styles.
- Passion for promoting responsible pet ownership and enhancing the human-canine bond.
