We are a growing organization that is looking to expand the number of qualified trainers to be part of our program. We are one of the largest national non-profit organizations that rescues, raises, trains and donates highly skilled medical service dogs to veterans, first responders and some civilians. We are currently looking for a full-time candidate for our headquarters in Williston, Florida that will be responsible for training our world-class service dogs. There is a tremendous demand for our dogs throughout the US, and we are looking to expand our team with additional trainers to help us fill that need more quickly as our organization continues to grow. This position will work primarily outdoors, 5 days a week for 40 hours. Hours may vary depending on the needs of the organization. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years experience with service dog training, military or police dog training. Scent skills, full mobility, and other verifiable high level dog training experience is preferred. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Be hard working, not afraid to get dirty and can work in any outdoor conditions, such as, rain, heat, and cold Must be able to work in a variety of indoor and public settings Exceptional at following instructions and learning our training techniques Able to mentor apprentices and Interns Meticulously complete daily training logs/data entry Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor with co-workers, outside visitors and volunteers Must be punctual and dependable High level understanding of positive reinforcement training, dog body language and communication Have reliable transportation Able to lift at least 50 lbs. Must love dogs Hours are Tuesday – Saturday. 7:30 – 4:30 Our facility is smoke, drug and alcohol-free.
