$17.00 Hourly Summary In coordination with the Animal Care Manager, the Training & Support Coordinator – Cats monitors cat care from intake to adoption, following up post adoption to ensure successful placement. Leads cat behavior volunteers and trains volunteers in shelter cat training programs. Assists Animal Care Manager in providing training support and consultation to clients as an intake prevention initiative. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, and other duties as assigned. Adopter and Community Support Assist Animal Care Manager in executing post adoption training support program. Assist in the creation and implementation of training curriculum and materials for volunteers, staff, and the public regarding common cat behavior challenges for animals adopted from Peggy Adams and not. Assist with canine classes offered by Peggy Adams to the public as needed. In conjunction with the Animal Care Manager and Director of Operations, act as liaison to foster care volunteers caring for a cat displaying challenging behaviors in the shelter or in the foster home. Support the Humane Education department in cat behavior curriculums and programming Assist in the creation of in-home training and enrichment plans for cats living with foster care volunteers Provide excellent service to all clients and organizational stakeholders. Maintain accurate recordkeeping for all interactions with clients in database Shelter Support Contribute to a workplace conducive to high employee morale and output, ensuring positive working relationships between clients, staff, and volunteers. Ensure questionnaires for cats surrendered to the shelter are current with information needed to house cats successfully in shelter until adoption. Review Fear-Anxiety-Stress (FAS) scores of cats in shelter on the third day of their length of stay and make an appropriate plan for housing, enrichment, and overall behavior in conjunction with the Animal Care Manager. Review history for cats experiencing high levels of FAS in the shelter and discuss next steps for that cat with the Animal Care Manager based on individual characteristics to decrease length of stay and improve overall quality of care. Maintain accurate recordkeeping of current behavioral plans in shelter and progress with Animal Care Technicians assisting with plans. Keep inventory of supplies used/needed. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Volunteer Support Cultivate a positive volunteer experience through friendly interaction, and frequently evaluate volunteer feedback for improvement and retention opportunities. Maintain volunteer roles related to cat behavior and review to ensure effectiveness and volunteer retention in those roles. Act as point person for all cat behavior volunteer roles.
